About Me

Deborah L. (Dunlap) Dixon born and raised in Camden, New Jersey.

My life, in a nutshell, includes my dropping out of high school and obtaining a General Education Diploma in 1987; going to Job Corps (1989); joining the Army National Guard (1990); beginning Camden County Community College (1991); transferring to Long Island University in New York (1992); graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree and marrying in New York (1995); returning to New Jersey (1996); receiving Christ’s gift of salvation on September 1, 1996; being ordained as a minister to teach (1998); enlisting active duty in the Army and moving to Texas (2000); divorcing, being medically discharged from the Army, completing my Master’s Degree, and moving to Delaware (2003),  beginning doctoral studies, and incorporating Faith In Action Ministries, Inc. later that year; marrying (2005); completing my doctoral journey (2010), divorcing (2012); and pursuing a writing career (2014).

My life also consisted of my writing poetry from an early age. I used to keep a journal of my writings, but in moving around in my teenage years I lost a lot of it. The work I still have has been typed into a book, “The Mind’s Journey: A Poetry Collection.” I’ve obtained copyright for that collection and once editing and revisions are complete it will be published.
